About these terms

This website is run by Sam Cotterill, a sole trader trading as Samcot Digital, based in Blackpool, Lancashire. In these terms, "I", "me" and "my" mean Samcot Digital, and "you" means anyone using this website.

By using this website, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Using this website

You're welcome to browse, read and share links to this website. Please don't:

• use it for anything unlawful, or in a way that harms the site or other people
• send harmful code, try to break into it, or overload it
• send spam or pretend to be someone else through the forms
• copy its design, words or code for your own use without asking

I work to keep the site accurate and online, but I can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Links to other websites are there to help, and I'm not responsible for their content.

The examples on this site, such as the mock-up dashboards, shops and messages, use made-up businesses and figures to show how things work. Client work and reviews are real.

Prices and the cost calculator

Prices on this website are in pounds sterling and show what things usually cost. The cost calculator gives you a guide price, not a quote. Your price is only fixed once I've confirmed it in writing.

Working with me

Every project starts with a written agreement that I send you before any work begins. It sets out what you're getting, the price, the dates and both of our responsibilities. If anything on this website differs from your agreement, your agreement takes priority.

In short:

• A fixed price, in writing, before we start.
• Two ways to pay. Pay in full, with half when you sign and half at launch. Or spread the cost of your website: £300 to start, then £125 a month for 12 months.
• Work starts once the agreement is signed and the first payment is made.
• Some costs are paid by you directly, such as card fees to Stripe, Google Workspace, ad budgets and Shopify, if used.
• Monthly services, like care and local SEO, run month to month after any minimum term. Your agreement explains how to cancel.

Content and ownership

The words, design, images and code of this website belong to Samcot Digital, unless they belong to someone else and are used with permission. Other company names and logos shown on this site belong to their owners.

For client work, your website is yours once it's paid for in full, and your web address is always registered in your name. Your agreement covers this in detail. When you send me words, photos or logos for your website, you confirm you have the right to use them.

Liability

The information on this website is general. It isn't advice for your particular business, so please don't rely on it alone when making decisions. I'm not responsible for losses caused by relying on this website's general information, or by it being unavailable.

For client work, liability is covered by your agreement.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't legally be limited. If you're a consumer, your legal rights aren't affected.

Changes and governing law

I may update these terms from time to time. Changes apply from the date they're posted here, and the "last updated" date will change.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any disputes.
